Congratulations to AMS TRADE LLP’s 2022 Super Lawyers!

Congratulations to AMS TRADE LLP’s Managing Partner, Deanna Okun, founding Partner and veteran advisor, Lou Mastrianiand Partner, Lauren Peterson, on achieving 2022 Super Lawyer status. In her fourth year of receiving the honor, Deanna Okun has once again been listed among Super Lawyers Top Rated International attorneys in Washington, DC. Okun is a legal and strategic international trade policy advisor who steers companies through the intersection where innovation confronts barriers, such as intellectual property theft, unfair trade practices, and regulatory hurdles. She advises on all aspects of unfair trade litigation and trade remedy advocacy. Prior to private practice, Okun served two terms as Chairman during her twelve years of service as a member of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). While at the ITC, Okun was nominated to be a Deputy United States Trade Representative. She also served as counsel for international affairs to U.S. Senator Frank Murkowski, Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and senior member of the Finance and Foreign Relations Committees.

Lou Mastriani has been listed as a Super Lawyers Top Rated Intellectual Property Litigation attorney in Washington, DC since 2007. Mastriani counsels and assists clients in domestic and worldwide licensing and enforcement programs for intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on high-technology patent portfolios. For more than four decades, Mastriani has been involved in unfair competition investigations before the ITC under Section 337 and in intellectual property litigation in federal district courts. He also handles antidumping and countervailing duty investigations at the ITC and the U.S. Department of Commerce, as well as cases before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Additionally, he counsels domestic and international clients with respect to compliance with export controls and sanctions protocols, as well as representing them in connection with investigatory and enforcement proceedings. Prior to private practice, Mastriani was counsel to an ITC Commissioner before becoming a senior investigative attorney in the Office of Legal Services (currently known as the Office of Unfair Import Investigations). He was appointed by the U.S. Trade Representative to serve as both a panelist and a chairman on bi-national panels convened pursuant to the North American Free Trade Agreement to provide a review of antidumping and countervailing duty decisions.

2022 marks Lauren Peterson’s third year as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Intellectual Property Litigation in Washington, DC. Peterson is an international trade and intellectual property attorney focusing her practice on Section 337 unfair competition investigations before the ITC. She represents clients from a diverse assortment of industries and has handled claims involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, false designation of origin, and antitrust violations. Peterson is skilled in all stages of ITC investigation.
