On April 5, 2022, AMS TRADE Managing Partner, Deanna Tanner Okun, discussed “Competition and Intellectual Property: How to Create a Diverse Innovation Ecosystem?” at the LeadershIP Conference in Washington, DC.

Among this year’s impressive roster of conference speakers, Mrs. Okun participated on a panel of experts who will address efforts that have underscored the priority of enabling innovation from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other policy efforts aimed at weakening the Intellectual Property rights that enable SMEs, start-ups, and inventors to protect their ideas and compete. The panel discussed why the relationship between competition and IP is so complicated and what can be done to level the playing field.
