AMS TRADE LLP Partner, Lou Mastriani, was quoted in an article in Managing IP entitled, “A Stranger’s Guide to USITC Trade Secret Complaints.” The article discusses why companies will continue to bring trade secret complaints to the International Trade Commission (ITC) and discusses how to tackle the challenges associated with this endeavor.

Lou was featured for his representation of LG Energy Solution in its complaint at the ITC. He commented, “If we had brought that case in South Korea, we wouldn’t have got any type of discovery, there would be no documents produced and no depositions would be taken, which wouldn’t be very satisfactory.” He also noted that such a situation would have been problematic because witness testimony and documents are important for trade secret cases.
