The first 2016 Global Series session will focus on innovation, IP, and trade through a trade negotiation lens. The work of trade agreements undeniably presents difficult challenges and important differences of view. The Series provides an unbiased global platform where those involved in this and other challenging work can engage with leading stakeholder representatives in thoughtful dialogue. Having special impact on intellectual property rights, the TPP comes at an inflection point in the development of international trade. It follows numerous bilateral agreements and pursues further harmonization of regulatory rules and dispute resolution mechanisms. Its development also precedes completion of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
