Congratulations to Lydia C. Pardini on passing the Customs Broker License Examination (CBLE)!

The exam evaluates “the individual’s knowledge of Customs and related laws, regulations and procedures, bookkeeping, accounting, and all other appropriate matters, necessary to render valuable service to importers and exporters, ” (19 § CFR 111.13(a)), and a strong understanding of all of the above is required to pass.

Licensure will reinforce Lydia’s experiential expertise in assisting importing clients with compliance with the laws and regulations administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agencies imposing import requirements. Lydia currently advises clients concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise, its classification and valuation, the payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP, and similar matters. Upon receiving her broker license, Lydia will also be able to “transact customs business” on clients’ behalf as needed, including preparing and filing import documents and data with CBP.
