Alissa M. Chase is the firm’s international trade advisor. In this capacity, she supports the firm’s attorneys and clients with a wide variety of international trade and business-related trade remedy, trade policy, and Customs matters. She works on clients’ behalf with government agencies, including the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Commerce (DOC), and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).
Alissa has extensive experience providing support for large and small domestic companies across a broad range of industries in trade remedy investigations, including base metals, chemicals, high-tech communications products, consumer goods, furniture, and solar energy. She has consulted with clients on all aspects of the Section 232 and Section 301 exclusions processes, the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) petition process, and pending legislation. She also assists clients with hearing testimony and monitors international developments in the EU and at the WTO and advises clients on issues relevant to their business concerns.
Alissa assists clients in import regulatory matters before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) involving classification, scope reviews of antidumping and countervailing duty orders, prior disclosures, CBP inquiries and post summary corrections. She analyzes company financial data and import data for domestic industry calculations in Section 337 and Customs proceedings.
Alissa is a contributor to the firm’s chapters in the ITC-published book, A Centennial History of the United States International Trade Commission. Prior to joining the firm, Alissa taught international affairs and history at Georgetown University and the University of Qatar.
