Who We Are

Who We Are

All paths lead to AMS TRADE

Before joining AMS TRADE, many of our attorneys worked as legal counsel, examiners, and advisors to government agencies, such as the U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. We also recruit attorneys and paralegals with BigLaw experience.

1. Professional Development

Our firm provides attorneys with opportunities to attend conferences, speeches, training and more. We also cover bar and membership fees.

2. Meaningful Work

The size of our firm allows us to be agile and efficient. Associates will quickly get involved in important cases and work closely with partners and seasoned attorneys.

3. Growth Opportunity

We promote partners from within the firm. 60% of our attorneys are partners due to their excellent work and dedication to the firm.

4. Team-Building Mentality

While we work hard to provide success for our clients, we also believe in a healthy work-life balance. We frequently enjoy creative events like Paint & Sip’s and trivia.

Community & Giving

AMS TRADE believes in the importance of giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Since our beginning in 1981, Washington D.C. has remained our professional residence.

AMS TRADE participates in the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center’s case referral program by representing low-income area residents in civil legal matters. Despite our boutique size, the firm’s legal staff dedicated more than 300 hours to pro bono work in 2021 and already over 500 hours of pro bono work in 2022.

AMS Trade participates in the annual American Heart Association's Lawyers Have Heart race.

We also proudly support a variety of municipal organizations in and around D.C., such as the D.C. Firefighters Association, as well as make contributions to other organizations such as Legal Aid, ThanksUSA, and the KIND Gala. We also organize a team and participate annually in the Lawyers Have Heart race to benefit the American Heart Association. When the race became virtual over the pandemic, we still ran (separately, but in solidarity) to help raise $676,000+ for COVID-19 research and relief.

We are always interested in talented, qualified condidates.
